This monitor is just so-so

We purchased this monitor because of the good reviews we read before our 2nd child was born in August 2008. From the time we received the monitor, we would plug it in overnight next to our bed and bring it downstairs with us during the day (running out the battery completely about once a week). Initially, the monitor held its charge for a solid 8 hours. Now, 4 months later, the monitor only stays charged about 3 hours.



Another thing that bothers us about the monitor is that only 1 channel works well on most occasions - channel B. With A, we get a lot static. We've tried moving around the antenna on the camera but this hasn't helped. And the interference occurs even when the monitor is sitting by itself only 10 feet away from the camera (with no cell phones, computers, etc nearby)



Yet one more thing that bothers me about this monitor is that when you buy a separate camera to use with the original monitor, you can only hear 1 channel at a time. So you either continue switching back and forth between 2 channels every few minutes, or you buy a sound monitor to use with the video monitor.



Now, with that said, there is one great thing about this monitor - the picture quality of channel B. Channel B works really well and if we only had 1 child, we'd be all set with this monitor. I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on adding a second camera.

I love almost everything about this monitor. It has a great picture and sound quality. It gives me piece of mind when my restless sleeper is making noises. I love that it's small and portable too. Other than a few blips when it's sitting directly next to my cordless phone, I've never had any interference issues. It's fine to have on with the cordless phones, TV, and my wireless internet.



The only downside to this monitor is how long it holds a charge. I work at home at night, so I carry the monitor with me, but after about 3 or 4 hours, it's lost its charge. I keep the charger in my bedroom so that it's plugged in at night, so it's not TOO inconvenient to have to go plug it in, but I wish it would last 8 hours.



Other than that, it's great!

This is the best baby product ever!!! I we got this when our daughter was 6 months old, and we can't believed that we survived 6 months w/out it!!! I was worried that it would not work in the basement of our 3 story house...but we have no problems!! You must have this monitor!! :)
