Manufacturer's Description

The Orbit Toddler Car Seat is a revolutionary upgrade for the Orbit Infant System; it can be docked onto either the Orbit Base or Stroller for unprecedented convenience and flexibility. No other convertible car seat can match the Toddler Car Seat's fully integrated design: you will be proud to show off your sleek car seat without dealing with dangling straps and belts.

Great if you already own the Orbit system

Comment:

Overall, I like this car seat. It is nicely finished and appears very safe.

Pros: Rotates on Orbit hub-note: can only be used on hub in rear facing position. However, it is recommended to keep rear facing until age 3 or 35 lbs, so this isn't a problem.

Great for taking on vacation-fits on Orbit stroller frame-makes it easy to wheel baby/toddler through the airport and not have to carry the car seat. Straps are hidden in a rear panel, so they don't drag all over the floor. Has a sun shade (not as big as the orbit stroller shade) which works good enough for use on vacations if you don't want to take the stroller seat.

Cons: On the base, the seat is very high. While this is great for our child to be able to see out the windows, it's difficult to lift her over the front of the seat without hitting her head on the ceiling.

The metal connectors for the straps behind the seat (i.e., hidden in the panel) sometimes get caught on the underside of the seat. This makes it impossible to tighten the straps. It is necessary to undo the panel and reposition the metal plate.

Overall, I recommend this seat, but only if you already have the Orbit system.
